FYI, Navajo Tacos are NOT Mexican!!! I grew up on the Navajo Reservation, so I would know. Authentic Navajo Frybread recipe uses shortening or lard- not butter, all-purpose flour is used- not whole wheat, and the dough is given and good amount of time to rest. The Frybread is not topped with rice, but only chili beans, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, sour cream, and salsa.

Oh, boy. I live to eat Mexican food. I think I need to replace my computer's "Recipe Shoebox Brownies and Bar Cookies" slide show, with a "Recipe Shoebox Favorite Cinco de Mayo Foods" slide show.

We love comments almost as much as we love good food...

About This Blog

My name is Lara and while I'm definitely not a gourmet cook, I do love preparing tasty, healthy meals for my family. Finding new recipes to try and sharing the ones we've already fallen in love with is a passion I've had since college and the reason why I've started this blog! With five kids, I'm usually in a hurry, so you'll find most of these recipes kid friendly and simple to make.
